Voco Ghent—the new name and face of the former Holiday Inn Ghent—is looking for an enthusiastic Breakfast Chef to ensure a high-quality, well-presented breakfast experience every morning.

As Breakfast Chef, you are responsible for the preparation, presentation, and management of the breakfast buffet. Thanks to your eye for detail, organizational skills, and passion for hospitality, our guests start their day in the best possible way.

Your responsibilities

  • Preparing and presenting the breakfast buffet according to Voco’s quality standards.
  • Preparing hot and cold breakfast dishes.
  • Ensuring an attractive and well-presented buffet setup.
  • Replenishing and monitoring products during service.
  • Overseeing hygiene, safety, and HACCP guidelines.
  • Managing inventory and the proper storage of food products.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team and other hotel departments to ensure smooth service.
  • Actively responding to guest requests and needs.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have experience in a kitchen role, preferably in breakfast service or a hotel kitchen.
  • You are an early bird and enjoy working morning hours.
  • You have a passion for fresh products and high-quality presentation.
  • You are independent, organized, and able to handle stress.
  • You are familiar with HACCP guidelines.
  • You are flexible and willing to work weekends and public holidays.
  • You speak Dutch; knowledge of English is a plus.

Maintenance Manager (Full-Time)

As a maintenance manager with a hands-on mentality, you are responsible for leading the technical department's operations to ensure the site's facilities remain in good working order.

Responsibilities

  • leading the technical department staff (creating schedules, assigning tasks, providing instructions);
  • drawing up maintenance and priority schedules;
  • ensuring preventive maintenance and repairs for buildings and installations;
  • acting as a technical advisor to the General Manager;
  • managing safety and security aspects;
  • supervising the work of external contractors;
  • guaranteeing the operational status and safety of the installations;
  • ensuring rapid and efficient interventions;
  • overseeing the execution of work;
  • engaging external companies for issues with elevators, refrigeration, air conditioning, etc.;
  • requesting and evaluating quotations;
  • acting as project manager for large-scale projects (renovations, equipment replacement);
  • taking responsibility for managing and ensuring safety standards;
  • managing necessary permits and certificates;
  • managing environmental aspects;
  • developing technical specifications and drafting manuals;
  • receiving and accompanying technical and safety inspectors;
  • conducting analyses and preparing reports on consumption, malfunctions, etc.;
  • monitoring the maintenance budget;
  • purchasing tools, spare parts, and equipment;
  • personnel management: handling leave requests, participating in the selection of new staff, arranging staff training and onboarding, evaluating and motivating employees, and conducting performance and appraisal reviews.

Front Office Employee (Replacement contract)

As a front office employee, you are responsible for welcoming guests and handling check-ins and check-outs. You also provide information and serve as the primary point of contact for guests. You relay operational instructions to reception staff (doormen, porters, etc.), housekeeping, and potentially the restaurant team.

Responsibilities

  • Switchboard: Answering and transferring calls, providing information, and processing reservations.
  • Guest Services: Checking guests in and out, providing information, and handling inquiries and complaints.
  • Reservations & Upselling: Optimizing occupancy and room revenue through sales and upselling.
  • Member Management: Registering and managing loyalty program and club members.
  • Local Expertise: Advising on regional attractions, events, and hotel facilities.
  • Housekeeping Coordination: Coordinating with housekeeping regarding rooms and guest requests.
  • Administration: Processing emails, invoices, reports, and daily administrative tasks.
  • Cash Handling: Processing payments, managing the cash register, and handling change.
  • Document Management: Managing files, brochures, and administrative documents.
  • Workplace Management: Maintaining a tidy and organized reception, lobby, and back office.

Your Profile

You have

  • Qualification: Professional Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or Tourism.
  • Work Experience: Experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Dutch, French, and English, plus one additional language.
  • Familiarity with software packages and internal procedures.
  • Understanding of company-specific regulations.
